Snacks are a quick way to provide us that boost of energy in between our regular meals to keep us going. It can also help us stay focus to complete our tasks. Although snacks can play a healthy part in our diet, some snacks offer little to no nutrition and is not always the best for our body. In this article, let’s discover some snack ideas that can be included as part of our healthy diet!
Popcorn
Alternative to chips which are usually loaded with salt and bad fats, good old plain popcorn is a healthier choice. The fiber content of popcorn is enough to tame those hunger pangs, but with lesser calories. The polyphenols from popcorn also help with blood circulation, digestive health and may also potentially lower risk for certain cancers.
Mixed Nuts
Mixed nuts may be underrated, but they provide big on nutrients and good fats as well. You might want to opt for plain roasted ones to get the best benefit from them.
Vegetable/Fruit Sticks
Veggies for snack? Why not! Just pair it with hummus and you’re ready to enjoy it! Try cutting vegetables like carrots, cucumber, celery, bell peppers, asparagus into bite-size pieces or sticks. You can explore pairing hummus with a variety of other vegetables, like sliced radish, broccoli and cauliflower florets, and cherry tomatoes. Alternatively, fruits like bananas, melon, strawberries, or apples taste amazing with peanut butter as well.
