Staying fit is a lifestyle choice and Singaporean millennials are devoted to keeping themselves and their loved ones healthy. According to Statista, Singaporeans between the ages of 25 to 34 are the biggest consumers of the fitness industry, and that both Singaporean male and female users give equal importance to a healthy lifestyle.
These days, fitness is no longer just about visiting the gym or going for a jog. You can find various types of subscription-based or even free fitness classes in Singapore that range from yoga and Pilates to cross-fit and Zumba at different fitness clubs.

25 May 2019; Sentosa Island
https://glowfestival.sg
Fitness doesn’t have to be all about working out until you can’t move a muscle anymore. It’s about embracing a healthy lifestyle and encouraging positive mental and physical wellbeing. Which is what the AIA Glow Festival is all about – the ultimate festival to unwind with some “me time”.
Take part in a range of yoga classes from leading fitness coaches, a charity run along the scenic Siloso and Palawan beach, a healthy twist to your typical food festival, and a musical experience featuring both homegrown and international talents.
26 May 2019; Suntec City
http://nvm.ntusportsclub.sg
Bored with conventional marathons? The good folks behind NTU Sports Club have just the alternative for you. Experience the National Vertical Marathon (NVM), where participants won’t just be running on the streets, but will instead scale buildings to reach the finishing point. This is exciting stuff considering Singapore has so many skyscrapers that we admire from below. This year, stair climbing enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that they can participate in different categories – 12 in total – and will have to scale 43 storeys of Suntec City Tower One to earn their medals.
1 June 2019; F1 Pit Building
https://www.sundownmarathon.com/sg/
They say it’s the best feeling to run at the wake of dawn. But the organisers at the OSIM Sundown Marathon decided to push the bar and come up with a marathon at the dawn of midnight instead. And why not? Be a part of Asia’s biggest night run where “Sleep can wait” – the theme of this unique fitness event – encourages runners to say goodbye to their goodnight sleep and instead run in different race categories to beat the sunrise.
To motivate you even further – parts of the proceeds collected at the marathon will be donated to charity initiatives.
2 June 2019; Sentosa Island
http://www.coldstoragekidsrun.com.sg
Why should adults have all the fun? Hone your kid’s athletic tendencies at the Cold Storage Kids Run in June and run alongside them while you’re at it. Seasoned little runners can participate in the children only races, while you can use this run as a fun event for the family with the non-competitive family categories.
This year, the event will also feature fringe activities aside from running where you can introduce your child to different hobbies that – who knows – will be something they develop a fond interest in or can just have extra fun with.
15 June 2019; Coney Island
https://s.tgr.run
Invoke the adventurer in you with an exciting array of marathon styles in one event. The STRG UGLOW Marathon which will start and end at Punggol Waterway Park allows you to explore the surroundings of Coney Island while trying to make it to the finishing line. Choose between the road marathon (42km), half marathon (21km) or 10km races where you’ll get to race on a hybrid combination of dirt trails and pavements.
3 August 2019; Orchid Country Club
https://www.urbanaquathlon.com/
The Urban Aquathlon is a 2-stage sprint race that combines swimming and running activities in one event. Having just ended its first race at Our Tampines Hub in April this year, you can still sign up for categories at their next event at Orchid Country Club (OCC) in either the competitive or non-competitive stages.
This unique fitness event in Singapore has been held at OCC since its inception in 2016 and you’re definitely in for a treat with its Olympic-sized swimming pool and running track that covers the club’s vicinity.
