Make the best of your AIA HealthShield Gold Max (HSG Max) Plan with Claims Recovery
If you have used your AIA HSG Max plan to pay for your hospital bill, you can make a claim from your company insurance to help restore the benefits of your AIA HSG Max plan. This is known as Claims Recovery and is made possible with the last-payer status of Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plans, including AIA HSG Max plan.

Why seek Claims Recovery?
Deductible and co-insurance are amounts that you are required to pay for covered healthcare services under Integrated Shield plans, including AIA HSG Max. If you have purchased a rider to cover deductible and co-insurance, you will still be required to pay a minimum 5% co-payment1.
However, these out-of-pocket expenses may be covered by your company insurance.
Hence, claims recovery can potentially reduce the amount that you need to pay for your hospital bill.
1 Insurers can set a co-payment cap of $3,000 or more per policy year.
Claiming from your company insurance can help preserve the claim limit of your AIA HSG Max policy — reducing the likelihood of exceeding the claim limit in the event of future medical expenses. It also helps to keep premiums affordable in the long run.
You can continue to enjoy the deductible waiver pass, which means that you do not have to pay for the deductible when there is no private hospital claim for three consecutive policy years.
If you do have a private hospital claim, claims recovery could help you retain your deductible waiver pass for future claims, thereby lowering your out-of- pocket expenses.

A deductible is the amount you pay for covered healthcare services. With a $2,000 deductible, for example, you pay the first $2,000 of covered services yourself.
After you pay the deductible, you usually will need to pay the co-insurance / co-payment for covered services before your insurance starts to pay. The amount covered by the insurance plan is subject to the co-insurance / co-payment percentage.
