The Tree Top Walk is a 250m long suspension bridge path between the two highest points in Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve (MacRitchie). From the bridge, you will be able to capture a bird’s eye view of the forest canopy, as well as glimpses of the 0.5% original primary rainforest and primary freshwater swamps that still remains in Singapore.
However, getting to marvel these views is no easy feat. The entire Tree Top Walk trail is roughly 4.5km from the MacRitchie Reservoir Park and 2.5km from the carpark at Venus Drive. It can take anywhere from one to two hours to complete, depending on your speed and starting point.
The terrain is also undulating, with steep slopes at certain points, which can be challenging to trek. Even though the route may have some obstacles, it still isn’t considered a tough trail to conquer for most. Moreover, the trekking involved can help improve your overall health and, best of all, make the experience with your companion well-earned.
One thing to note is that the bridge is designed to be crossed in a single direction. If you wish to take a #fitspo photo, remember to be considerate and do it quickly in order not to cause a human jam.
