Protect your loved ones’ future from life’s uncertainties
Singapore, 28 June 2019 — At the 4th annual AIA Charity Golf 2019 event, AIA Centennial Fund raised a record S$362,000 for beneficiaries of Children’s Wishing Well, AIA Singapore’s adopted charity. With the generous support of business partners, staff, and financial representatives, the funds will benefit education, wellness, and enrichment programmes to nurture children and youths from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mr Patrick Teow, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore, said, “We are incredibly thankful for the generosity and support of our corporate customers, business partners, staff, representatives, and fellow members of the community for coming together to help the youths of Children’s Wishing Well achieve their dreams through this AIA Charity Golf event. We are happy that we are able to do our part for the community and make a difference to the lives of our future generations.”
Founded in 2002, Children’s Wishing Well has supported thousands of children and youths from low-income families, through providing for their educational and daily living needs, equipping them with future-ready skills, and building a strong foundation for them to improve their quality of life.
Mr Trevor Xie, Founder and Director of Children’s Wishing Well, added, “For Children’s Wishing Well, our aim is to turn the tables for the less-privileged by seeing them not as ‘what’s wrong’, but ‘what’s strong’. We are grateful for AIA Singapore’s unwavering support in our belief, so together, we can create better opportunities for children in need to realise their full potential.”
Into its 4th year, AIA Charity Golf continues to be AIA Singapore’s key fundraising event, and is part of a series of collaborations between AIA Singapore and Children’s Wishing Well. Other recent activities included supporting the children’s footballing aspirations and youth development at AIA Football Kids Camp in June – a series of professional football clinics conducted by Tottenham Hotspur Global Football Development Coaches. Participation fees for the Kids Camp also went towards AIA Centennial Fund for Children’s Wishing Well. As for upcoming activities, members of the public can look forward to AIA Family Fest this National Day weekend to pay it forward for families in need.
Corporate social responsibility continues to be a priority for AIA Singapore, especially as the life insurer celebrates its 100-year Centennial celebrations across Asia this year. AIA Singapore has raised more than S$1 million through AIA Charity Golf over the past 4 years since 2016. In January 2019, the AIA Centennial Fund was set up as part of the brand’s promise to doing more to place the health and well-being of Singaporeans at the heart of everything we do, for the next hundred and beyond.
