{{label}}Climate change is impacting Singapore. We are faced with challenges from rising sea levels and temperatures, threats from water security and vulnerabilities in global supply chain.
Hence, now, more than ever, it is important for us to take steps to influence positive environmental practices.
At AIA, our Green Operations pillar encompasses four key priorities:
Reduce our carbon footprint, while measuring and managing the amount of waste produced from our operations.
Increase digitalisation and automation to reduce the usage of paper and need for business travel.
Adhere to industry-recognised green building standards.
Prioritise vendors and business partners with good ESG practices.
trees planted across Singapore
In celebration of our 90 years in Singapore,
AIA pledges S$5 million for the next 5 years to the Garden City Fund’s Plant-A-Tree programme to support the
National Parks Board’s nationwide OneMillionTrees movement.
Launched in April 2020, the OneMillionTrees movement aims to plant a million trees across Singapore over the
next 10 years, including our streetscapes, gardens, parks and park connectors, nature
reserves and nature parks and more.
Community is key to the success of this movement – through the OneMillionTrees movement, everyone can play
an active role in building a City in Nature for future generations to enjoy.
Sustainable design and
principles are incorporated across our physical spaces and we are continuously seeking ways to implement
energy efficient measures and environmental management best practices.
All of our 3 AIA Managed Buildings – AIA Tower, AIA Tampines and AIA Alexandra have been Green Mark
Certified. The Green Mark Certification for AIA Tower was obtained since 2016, while AIA Tampines and
Alexandra buildings were Green Mark Certified since 2017.
For more efficient management of energy produced by our data centres, we have embarked on the
journey of migrating our information technology services from on-premises to cloud. This would further
reduce our carbon footprint and bring us closer to achieving carbon neutrality.
Adopting green-labelled
products is one of our ways to demonstrate and encourage sustainable lifestyle habits that every one of us
can adopt to make a change.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we are committed to cutting down on the amount of single-use plastic,
adopting green labelled products for office renovation, encouraging recycling and reuse of materials while
taking the necessary precautions to ensure compliance in legislation on the handling or disposal of waste in
our operations.
