AIA Health CashPlus allows you to select additional benefits that are appropriate for your circumstances. Whether your existing medical insurance is provided by AIA or not, this plan could be an effective way of enhancing your overall level of protection. The benefits of the basic plan include:
(Based on Plan 3 of Basic Hospital Income Benefits Group)
Daily Hospital Income
You may find if you are hospitalised for any period of time, that there are additional unexpected costs associated with being ill, aside from your medical expenses. This plan offers a cash payout while you are Confined in hospital in Singapore or overseas which you can use to offset any additional expenses, or to help cope with lost income - with a daily cash payment of S$300 per day if you are admitted to a hospital due to a Sickness and S$800 per day for hospitalisation due to an Injury (up to a maximum of 500 days1 for the Same Confinement3). For more details, please refer to the brochure*.
Day Surgery Income Benefit2
If you are not hospitalised, but need to undergo Day Surgery due to Sickness or Injury, the plan will pay out S$300 per day on which the surgery is performed. This may help you to cope with any lost income, or meet any additional costs you might face. This benefit will not be paid more than 5 times for the same Accident or Sickness.
Extra cash for recovering at home2
Once you leave hospital, your doctor may give you a medical certificate and advise you to rest at home for a while. For each Same Confinement3 period, the plan pays out S$150 per day under Post-Hospitalisation Home Rest Benefit for up to 5 days, provided that the home rest period occurs within 5 days following the date of discharge from hospital.
Get Well Benefit
After any period of hospitalisation it can take a while before you start to feel like your usual self again. That is why, for the Same Confinement3 period, we will pay a lump sum Get Well Benefit of S$400 which you could use to pay for anything which may make your recovery more comfortable. It’s entirely up to you.
Free coverage for five years in the event of Critical Illness4
If you are diagnosed with one of 30 common Critical Illnesses covered by the policy before the policy anniversary following your 65th birthday, your premium will be waived for five years for coverage under the Basic Hospital Income Benefits Group, up to but excluding the policy anniversary following the end of 5th year from the date the Critical Illness is determined.
Optional Extras
Both optional benefits groups include the waiver of premium benefit, where premiums are waived in respect of those optional benefits groups if you are diagnosed with one of 30 common Critical Illnesses covered by the policy before the policy anniversary following your 65th birthday4.
Protection for 30 Critical Illnesses

Reimbursement for your hospital expenses, and more
(Based on Plan 2 of Optional Hospital Expenses Reimbursement Group)
Most medical insurance plans in the market operate on a deductible and co-insurance basis. This means that, in the event of a claim, you would be required to pay a portion of the total costs yourself. If you are hospitalised due to Sickness or Injury5, the Optional Hospital Expenses Reimbursement Group includes a hospital expense reimbursement benefit of up to S$6,000 per Same Confinement3 which is not subject to deductible and co-insurance. For more details, please refer to the brochure*.
Save up to 20% on your premium
AIA Health CashPlus can be used to complement your basic medical expense reimbursement plan, even if you have such a plan issued by another insurer. If you are already covered by an AIA HealthShield Gold Series policy you will qualify for an automatic discount of up to 20% off the standard premiums for each benefits group included in your AIA Health CashPlus plan.
