DO WOMEN NEED PROTECTION

Riders
A rider is an optional policy that offers added benefits and protection, and is attached to an existing policy, for a nominal monthly premium. Many riders designed specially for women include free medical check-ups twice a year, allowing women the opportunity to monitor their own health regularly. These check-ups include pap smears, breast and pelvic tests and blood tests, including cholesterol level measurement.

These specially planned riders for women pay up a substantial lump sum of cash for major female illnesses like breast and cervical cancer and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (S.L.E). Policyholders can make a claim even if their illness is at a non-invasive stage. To ensure that women are well-protected, these plans also offer coverage for expensive surgery. For example, coverage will be provided if a malignant condition of the uterus is detected and policyholders can also make claims when they have a mastectomy.

In the event of injury resulting from accident or assault, women’s policies offer reimbursements for medical expenses (ie. costs of hospital room and board, intensive care unit, surgery and anesthetist’s services). This special cover will relieve the policyholder of extremely high costs of facial plastic surgery or skin transplantation required due to severe burns which most normal plans do not cover.

For mums-to-be, riders for women also cover pregnancy complications and insure infants against congenital anomalies such as Down Syndrome and “hole-in-the-heart” conditions.

Simply attach a basic AIA life insurance to WELL (Woman's Enhanced Leading Lifestyle), a unique plan that is specially designed to adapt to the various changes in a woman's life. WELL provides security, independence, and perhaps most important of all, a sense of peace knowing that your needs are well taken care of.

Why invest in a policy specially for women?
The question should be, why not?

Women have special needs that are not necessarily covered by the usual life policies. What distinguishes life insurance policies and/or riders for women from other policies is that most policies don’t cover “specific” female illnesses such as cancer of the breast, cervix, uterus, ovary, fallopian tube and vagina. They also do not cover pregnancy complications, congenital anomalies and re-constructive surgery.

Enough has been said about the potential risks that can hit women anywhere, anytime in the world. Whatever your role in life – wife, mother, daughter, career woman, homemaker - or all of these, the choice is yours. It’s never too late to take some form of insurance as protection against what lies ahead. As the saying goes, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Notes:
Buying a life insurance policy is a long-term commitment. An early termination of the policy usually involves high costs and the surrender value payable may be less than the total premiums paid.
